Emma Poole is a Senior Research Associate and a bye-fellow at the University of Cambridge. She has worked in molecular virology since her PhD at Cambridge where she studied the molecular virology of Influenza virus with Paul Digard. Following this, she worked in London studying innate immune evasion of paramyxoviruses at London University with Steve Goodbourn in a post doctoral position before moving back to Cambridge University. After a working on a collaborative project with Antonio Alcami and John Sinclair on UL144 signalling, she moved on to study the molecular mechanisms of human cytomegalovirus latency with John Sinclair.
