Dr. Ramesh Nachimuthu obtained his master’s degree in Applied Microbiology from the Periyar University, Tamil Nadu, India. He then obtained the PhD degree in Microbiology from Bharathidasan University-BDU (2012). He was the awardee of British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy-BSAC in 2009-2010 at United Kingdom, and the travel was supported by DST and CSIR, Govt. of India, New Delhi. He is an Assistant professor in School of Bio-Sciences and Technology-SBST, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India from 2016 June to till date. He is the National Joint Coordinator in IIMAR. He is a recipient of Young Scientist Fellow in DST-SERB, Govt. of India, New Delhi with the project cost of 3 Million conferred for his best research work and he has successfully completed the project. He is the active member in many national and international organizations. He is the secretary for Society for Bacteriophage Research and Therapy-India. He has published 81 research papers, 3 book chapter and submitted more than 175+ genes (MDR and 16S r RNA), 5 class I integrons and 16 Whole genome sequencing in NCBI GenBank and patented 1 methodology. He is actively involved in research and has collaborations with Turkey, Norway, AUSTRALIA, SAUDI ARABIA, Canada United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, China. He has also received several Travel grant from various funding agencies.He has Received four awards namely Young Scientist award -DST-SERB, Dr.Sam Thiagalingam International Junior Faculty Award & TASME-VS 2020 Innovation Recognition Award, Dr. Felix D Herelle Outstanding Scientist Award”
