Dr Abdelwahab is currently a professor at Minia Faculty of Medicine, Minia University (Egypt) and at Taif University College of Pharmacy (KSA). He obtained a Pharmacy degree with honor from Assiut University in 1989 and completed his Ph.D. in Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2002. Dr. Abdelwahab research interests include cellular immunity to viruses including HCV, HIV and HEV and he has published 84 papers in international journals and 11 papers in local Egyptian journals. He also presented 31 oral presentations and 35 posters in different conferences and attended ~75 international conferences. He supervised 26 Master’s and Ph.D. Students and refereed 13 different theses and dissertations. Dr. Abdelwahab received 22 different awards including the State Incentive Award in Medical Sciences for 2007, Egyptian Academy for Scientific Research and Technology, Ministry of Higher Education. He is a member of several professional organizations e.g. WSV, ASM, AAI, EASL, EAI, and ESV. Dr. Abdelwahab is an Ad Hoc reviewer for more than 45 international journals such as Frontiers in Immunology, Journal of Medical Virology, Viral Immunology, Infectious Agents and Cancer, Archives of Virology, American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Human Immunology…etc. Dr. Abdelwahab is an Editorial board member in Frontiers in Microbiology, Journal of Advances in Medicine, and Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Research.
